 Supply Chain ManagementSoftware solutions reasonably used for the control of the supply network plants in the company and for the communication with external business partners offer more efficiency along the value added chain. This is the statement of the attached article of the VDMA news of April, 2010. Users report here how they introduce, integrate and pursue the Supply Chain management. MyOpenFactory is the purchasing platform by which BURKHARDT realizes up to 50% of the orders today. The MyOpenFactory system has been developed by the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) and the Research Institute for Operations Management (Registered Association) (FIR), both establishments at the RWTH Aachen University. Currently Burkhardt introduces a new ERP system which supports the functions of the software myOpenFactory completely. The new system of PSIpenta allows the complete integration of myOpenFactory into the IT scenery of Burkhardt. Now RWTH Aachen University plans another research project which will make a virtually everyday practise of the look into external data pools. Burkhardt will again be project partner, this time in collaboration with PSIpenta.
