 BURKHARDT mourns for senior head Dr. Otto Burkhardt The company Burkhardt mourns for its senior head Dr. Otto Burkhardt, who deceased in the age of 87 on 7th March 2010. Dr. Otto Burkhardt was the Managing Director for more than 50 years until the year of 2000, when his son Alexander Burkhardt took over the sole management.
BURKHARDT has lost an excellent entrepreneur who managed the business systematically and with high competence.
The company Burkhardt family-owned already in the third generation since 1917 is going to celebrate its 150 years anniversary in 2011.
Dr. Burkhardt enjoyed the best reputation in Bayreuth and the surrounding area and has also been esteemed as patron of the arts.
The management board as well the personnel will keep his memory in highest esteem.

The German / Dutch investment group Nimbus, oriented to a long-term engagement, joined the company as new owner. Nimbus will support the company in addition to financing with its experience in the machinery equipment industry. The new company ebu Burkhardt GmbH aims to continue its trustful relation to customers, suppliers and the Bayreuth community under the management of Jörg Berger.
